What is a typical 401k match in PE?
I'm curious, what is seen as baseline across funds of various sizes? 50% or dollar-for-dollar match for up to 3%, 5%, 6%, etc.? I've never actually seen it discussed.
Edit: It would be super helpful if you could also include your fund size!
My fund is dollar for dollar match up to $2.5k
have a buddy who gets match up to 4%
Thanks! Rough fund size?
~$500mm
My firm does 100% match dollar-for-dollar up to max yearly limit (23k or whatever the max is). Never seen it before. Not giving exact AUM, but it’s a large fund, not mega fund.
Dollar-for-dollar up to 6%, zero above that
Thanks! Rough fund size?
~$3B
Same at my old fund 6% $4$.
50% up to 6%.
So essentially dollar for dollar up to 3%
I'm at a MF and we have 5% Safe Harbor (automatic vest) match
No match, they just roll part of the bonus into a PSP to save on taxes — at a MF
4% capped at 8k.
~$2B fund, 50% match up to 6% (so 3% dollar for dollar). Decent profit share, something like 5% of base every year incrementally.
