Emigrating to a different market?
Real Estate being such a regional and network based carrier, I'm curious about any stories and details you might have about graduating from or working in a certain market, and either through fortuitous events or a continued effort wound up in a completely different market or even country as you originally started in.
Hey CadMonkey117, I'm the WSO Monkey Bot and I am sad to say, but this thread is lonely, so thought I'd post in here to try and help out. Some potential topics that might help:

I've mentioned this before, but I stared by RE career in TX after school, spent 6+ years in the mid-Atlantic/SE and am now working in NJ, so I've made two moves to different parts of the country.
I don't really have a great story for you. I've always looked nationally when doing job hunts, and interesting jobs have always come up/been offered to me when I was ready to move on to something new. It helps that I'm single with no kids and am always willing to move myself if the company doesn't offer relocation (I find that relocation is usually only offered for directors/officers and above).
I will mention that I'm in debt AM (my background is appraisal and servicing), which can make things a little easier or harder depending on how you are looking at it. Easier in the sense that there aren't as many people that work in this specific part of RE, harder because the teams tend to be small and are spread out across the country. Therefore, when I'm searching, if I limited my search to a specific city, I could be waiting years for something to open up (except for in NYC where a lot of jobs are located).
PM me if you have a specific question.
