Just curious what market compensation is in a REIT in a HCOL. Is it close to 70k all in or higher/lower? And how does it compare in terms of pay, culture, WLB to IBD, REPE, AM, etc...

What does that job entail? Sounds like it won’t pay more than $60k base starting out
Was your experience at a REPE? And do you currently work in AM? What is your role? As a data point, I'm an associate in AM at a REPE making $125k (secondary market).
Got pinged recently for a REIT.. analyst base 120k, associate base 150k… didn’t respond to the guy so not sure what REIT it was, not in the market for a new gig
Since "REIT" is just a capital structure/tax classification... don't expect "REIT comp" to necessarily be similar across firms.... Thus, expect comp to be competitive when compared to similar sized (AUM) owner/operators and equity funds that operate in similar asset classes/markets, etc. Also, expect comp to reflect the WLB expectations which can vary quite a bit firm to firm.
Short answer.... comp will fit with similar firms, regardless of "REIT" status or not.
