Technical Skills for Associate level Asset Management Interview

I'm looking at interviewing for a few associate level roles in AM and was hoping to get an idea of how best to spend my time preparing. I've stayed at my spot since college and haven't really been through any formal CRE interviews - I honestly have no idea what to expect and am psyching myself out.

I'm currently working as an analyst focusing on asset management (3 years RE experience), but I work at a small shop and we we wear a lot of hats so the responsibilities vary day bay day and aren't super defined. Generally, creating budgets and business plans, doing variance analysis type stuff with financial packages from 3rd party prop managers. Lots of project management for CapEx projects and hands on work with property management companies to solve problems and make decisions. Some due diligence projects for acquisitions.

I'm looking to move to a more institutional shop and don't want to come in unprepared. I think my experience is very solid and I have no doubt that I could quickly pick up any needed technical skills on the job (This is CRE not software engineering) but i'm worried I won't seem polished interviewing in this kind of environment.

I want to upskill before the interviews and make sure I pass any technical tests that come up, but all the real estate interview prep courses that I have looked at seem to focus on acquisitions. What excel skills should I learn to best get ready for interviews on the AM side? I'm thinking cashflow forecasting type stuff would likely come up. Is it worth taking to time to sharpen my skills on typical proforma modeling type exercises or would i be wasting my time? I'm pretty competent with Excel and can do basic practical stuff like index match or whatever easily, but don't have an 'advanced' skillset.

Very much appreciate any advice from anyone who has been through it or worked on the hiring side.
