First off, the objective thing doesn't tell anything special or specific, it's obvious you want a job, so I'd get rid of it.
I guess you have a really poor GPA as you didn't mention it, and what about SAT?
TBC
Yup, my GPA is decent for Aerospace Engineering (sitting at the average), but in the Finance world it is poor (under a 3.0). Kept that out of it
Why do you order your technical skills in this order? imo a confusing and random list
You have a "Windows" skill. Please elaborate! Seriously, get rid of stuff like Windows, Mac, Linux and DOS
"Successfully prepared (substantively and procedurally) all members for multiple conferences" You couldn't have been more general?
Just try to put in more detail in most of your points.
What kind of jobs are you exactly looking for? Engineering related? Then this might not be the best forum to ask for advice. Just saying.
Thanks! I'm an Engineering student but I really enjoy finance and have been fairly successful at the internships/experiences I've had.
I'm going to graduate in a year and I'm looking for consulting jobs that bridge engineering and finance.
Have someone with excellent English skills proofread your resume, there are a number of usage errors, e.g. "portfolio's" vs "portfolios", "lead" when you mean "led".
You have so many skills listed that it's hard to tell which ones are your core competencies. You should pare it down to the important bits, and only list what you'd be comfortable defending in an interview.
"Windows, Mac, Linux, and DOS" is seriously pushing it. Windows and Linux make sense for a programming job, and Mac maybe as a graphic designer, but I don't see it being relevant to most finance jobs.
"Successfully prepared (substantively and procedurally) all members for multiple conferences" -- I have no idea what this means, especially the parenthetical statement.
Good points: You quantified figures, dollar amounts, percentages It seems like you have serious engineering experience
Suggestions for improvement: Have your career center / friends proof-read for errors Limit what you mention to the things you want your interviewers to focus on
I changed that last line the following:
Technical: Autodesk Suite, AVL, C++, CNC, Excel VBA, Fluent, Gridgen, JAVA, Matlab, Mathematica, PSS MetaTrader 5, SolidWorks, STATA
It's now in alphabetical order. Better?
Please put it in order of relevance to the job you are applying for!
So you are looking for consulting. What kind of consulting? Any specific area of focus?
The problem with nailing down the order of skills is that I will be using this resume for a career fair in September. I have a resume dedicated to Engineering and one that is more Finance related (the one I've uploaded). When I apply to specific companies, I will most certainly tailor my resume accordingly.
I would like to get a consulting job in something like supply chain management. This would be a good bridge between engineering and finance. Alternatively, Private Equity is something that I am interested in and wouldn't mind doing for a while. International PE would be ideal (things like Foreign Direct Investment). I worked side by side with a hedge fund last year and enjoyed what they did. My team and I came up with a thesis about investing in the Oil Sector within Asia. The title of the paper was Oil 2.0: The Rise of India's Middle Class. Hence, market analysis/analytics would be interesting as well.
My problem is that I am interested in too many things and need to pick one field soon-ish (since I am graduating in a year).
Thanks for your help!

Consulting =/ finance (in most cases)
Consulting is looking for a different skill set and for different experiences than, say, IBD or AM.
From what you have been saying, you have little or no clue to what you are talking about or what you want. I am leaning towards saying that you have no clue about the finance industry in general or possible career paths. Here is what you need to do.
1) Read old WSO posts and figure out what career suits your interest, skills and character (I hope your motivation is not only money!) 2) tailor your resume to the industry you have picked 3) NETWORK 4) get a summer internship 5) perform well 6) get a return offer 7) take it 8) be happy you made it and post on WSO that you made it
Ooooh. You need to pick your field soonish? Well, I suggest to get cracking!
There needs to be a sticky in this forum saying no margins less than 0.5" and no font lower than 10.
