LBS Masters in Financial Analysis vs HEC MSc in Finance

Hi everyone!

I am currently experiencing a dilemma with regards to my postgraduate studies.

I just received notice that I was admitted to both the recent Masters in Financial Analysis of LBS and the MSc in International Finance of HEC Paris.

I would like to pursue a career in PE (notably in VC and/or Growth Capital, either in Europe or Asia (HK and Singapore) or the US. I feel like the LBS's programme weakness notably lies in the fact that it is a recent programme while HEC's is more established. However I have a feeling that LBS's brand is stronger across the globe.

Any insights might be of interest !

Thank you in advance!

Sure ! French, freshly graduated last year from the BSc in International Economics, Management and Finance at Bocconi University (105/110).

GMAT: 700

Internships with ENGIE in market analysis / trading. With Catella Valuation (Real Estate Valuation) and currently at KPMG in the Integration and Separation team of Transaction Services.

My money is still on LBS due to global branding, but yes I know that there are some really smart, particularly quantitatively inclined, people at HEC.

Thank you for your insights!

This is helpful, I am leaning towards LBS because I feel like the curriculum has an edge in terms of practical and experiential learning, and that the brand is well known globally.

Further, I feel like this will open me to a wider network of people and backgrounds.

And last but not least, living in the outskirts of Paris compared to central London is a little less enticing.

From my expereince, I feel if you are French, HEC would have been a better choice because you'd have easily got into VC/PE in France.

But, all the bset to you.
