Notre Dame Undergrad IB Recruiting Difficulty
Hi there, incoming Notre Dame undergrad. How is the recruiting environment at Notre Dame? I heard it's hard to land top offers from other target schools like NYU Stern, Michigan Ross, and UVA if you aren't in the top finance clubs or a crazy hardo. Is this true at Notre Dame? Any updated BB/EB/Buyside placements for SA 2024 and 2025? Thanks.
Its just as easy to land a top offer at ND as those schools because there isn't as much competition. We place kids at top groups everywhere in banking and the buyside. Class of 23 has placements at KKR PE, BX PE, MS M&A, Ares PE, 3 EVR M&A, and GS TMT. Class of 24 had 8 EVR M&A and 2 PJT RSSG, among others. Class of 25 has placements at BX PE, Bain Capital, 3 EVR, and 2 MS M&A. These aren't comprehensive. I am missing a few, and just mentioned what WSO considers to be "tippy top" groups.
Im having a tough time believing that Evercore hired ~15 - 20% of their 2024 M&A class from Notre Dame. Most banks will have quotas for schools like ND and won’t go far over their quotas.
It’s true. Six NYC, one Chicago, one Menlo. The same class has representation at Lazard, PJT, Moelis, and PWP as well.
Hi, thank you for this detailed info. Is it okay if I pm you for some questions?
how many kids are interested in finance/actively recruiting, because those placements are insane. Like, is that like a 20 place well out of 25 who recruit, or 20 place well out of 70 who recruit
A bit over 100 recruit and I’d say 40-50 get high quality offers (Buyside/EB/BB) while the rest go MM and regional. Every person I knew who wanted an IB offer had one by senior year.

I networked with a grand total of 0 people, was involved in 0 clubs relevant clubs at ND, wasn't even in Mendoza, had no idea what investment banking was until junior yr when I randomly landed an IB internship at a small boutique bank, then recruited for FT offer and successfully landed at MM. Notre Dame on your resume lets you smooth sail into IB.
