Notre Dame Undergrad IB Recruiting Difficulty

Hi there, incoming Notre Dame undergrad. How is the recruiting environment at Notre Dame? I heard it's hard to land top offers from other target schools like NYU Stern, Michigan Ross, and UVA if you aren't in the top finance clubs or a crazy hardo. Is this true at Notre Dame? Any updated BB/EB/Buyside placements for SA 2024 and 2025? Thanks.

Its just as easy to land a top offer at ND as those schools because there isn't as much competition. We place kids at top groups everywhere in banking and the buyside. Class of 23 has placements at KKR PE, BX PE, MS M&A, Ares PE, 3 EVR M&A, and GS TMT. Class of 24 had 8 EVR M&A and 2 PJT RSSG, among others. Class of 25 has placements at BX PE, Bain Capital, 3 EVR, and 2 MS M&A. These aren't comprehensive. I am missing a few, and just mentioned what WSO considers to be "tippy top" groups.

how many kids are interested in finance/actively recruiting, because those placements are insane. Like, is that like a 20 place well out of 25 who recruit, or 20 place well out of 70 who recruit

Based on previous WSO threads, here's what you need to know about the recruiting environment at Notre Dame for Investment Banking:

  1. Recruiting Environment:

    • Notre Dame is considered a semi-target school for investment banking. This means that while it may not have the same level of access as top target schools like NYU Stern, Michigan Ross, or UVA, it still has a strong presence in the industry.
    • Being involved in top finance clubs and maintaining a high GPA can significantly improve your chances of landing top offers. Networking and leveraging alumni connections are also crucial.
  2. Comparison with Other Schools:

    • Similar to other semi-target schools, students at Notre Dame may need to put in extra effort to stand out. This includes participating in finance-related extracurriculars, securing relevant internships early on, and actively networking with professionals in the industry.
  3. BB/EB/Buyside Placements for SA 2024 and 2025:

    • While specific placement data for Notre Dame undergraduates for SA 2024 and 2025 isn't provided in the context, it's important to note that students from semi-target schools like Notre Dame do secure positions at top firms. The key is to be proactive in the recruiting process.

I networked with a grand total of 0 people, was involved in 0 clubs relevant clubs at ND, wasn't even in Mendoza, had no idea what investment banking was until junior yr when I randomly landed an IB internship at a small boutique bank, then recruited for FT offer and successfully landed at MM.
