Sticking with Ivey AEO or applying to an ivy league after first year?

Hey Everyone,

I made a thread a while back about ivey as I've been admitted into the Ivey HBA program with advanced entry opportunity because its a 2+2. The reason why I am looking at transferring to an Ivy league school because my goal out of undergrad is banking in the US(preferably NY) and Ivy league schools are much better at placing with that.

Although Richard Ivey's school of business has a strong presence on Bay street, the recruitment isn't that great for US BBs.

So, if my goal is to work on the street, should I stick with Richard Ivey's school of business or apply to an Ivy league? Also, as a transfer student do schools in the US care about high school marks? In canada, uni acceptances are based off of just gr 12 marks.

you could always apply, but you would be applying from WESTERN, not IVEY US schools don't care about your AEO status

considering WESTERNS reputation, you'd have a better chance of transferring into an IVY from any of UT, UBC, waterloo, mcgill, queens, etc...

its worth a shot, but don't expect much

also, i don't think you know what you're talking about

Ivey consistently places 5-10 kids at BBs and EBs in the USA that's on par with cornell, penn (non wharton) and brown

.

First of all, Ivey places a decent amount of people to the States. I am not talking about 1-2 people to UBS or Deutsche, I am talking about usually 8-15 people consistently to elite boutiques and BBs (Goldman, JPM, Moelis etc).

Second of all, why not just do both?

Cornell places way more than just 5-10 kids at BBs and East. I personally know of more than 5 sophomores who placed into BBs and loads more juniors going BB this summer. I would argue that Penn CAS and Brown also place a lot more than just 5-10 kids considering that I met 2 Brown sophomores at my BB superday.
