turn down target school Msc offer for more relevant MSc offer at semi-target??

would it be insane to turn down a target school Msc offer (imperial/oxbridge).  I have two MSc offers, one (Msc finance) from semi-target (though highly ranked progam) and second from top target school mentioned, MSc in drug development.

CV: Biomed BSc (semi-target)

     - HC VC internship experience

     - CF internship experience

Career goal: IB analyst program (HC) exit to HC PE/VC

if I were you, I'd find people who did HC IB > HC PE/VC and ask them this question.

I can't give any better advice. to me it looks like a 50/50 situation where both paths can lead to your career goals. Masters would improve your real techncial skills required for the exit opportunities but the Finance masters will help you in recruiting (because otherwise you have to do your MSc in Drug Development AND study finance on the side for interviews).

appreciate it...drug dev masters would be playing the long game which ive been reliably told is a good strategy considering i plan to exit to a technical sector. could make it more difficult to get into analyst program though or at least delay the process...then again target school on the CV may help with IB recruiting.
