Undergrad University

Applying this year and needed some help related to what university I wanted to attend.

I would want to enter the maths department but I wouldn't mind an econ/finance degree.

I am an international student so US universities are hard to get into and very expensive. My parents have told me that they would be able to pay for the expensive universities but I don't want to burden them too much.

Wanted your thoughts on:

1) How good is Baruch, most of the threads are a bit old and don't really answer what I need. Baruch is pretty cheap comparatively

and have heard that it is pretty good for NY.

2) Are there any universities in the EU that are worth looking at, have done enough research on UK universities but was confused if there are any universities in the EU.

3) How are the UC's, which ones have good OCR/rep.

My goal would be to work in the US (preferably NY).

If you want to work in the US, go to school in the US. No mainland european/UK school is going to get you into Wall Street without first breaking into the respective city. Bocconi and HEC come to mind as some good european targets for London anyway.

Avoid Baruch. Cornell is a great option if you're set on attending a good quant-econ program with solid recruiting in the East Coast. In terms of the UCs - UC Berkeley has a spectacular mathematics department / has good recruiting in California (not really in NYC, but still possible).

In the EU - Outside of Oxbridge, Imperial College / LSE are solid options for quant related business / finance paths.

Thanks for the reply.

Why would you tell me to avoid Baruch?

Also, what about the other UC's? Other than UCB, are there any other that place well?
