Wouldn't it be funny if Trump wins the popular vote and loses the electoral college? I can see that happening.

I mean, it would be ironic, but there is zero chance Trump wins the popular vote. FiveThirtyEight has him at about a 10% chance of winning the electoral college, which is much higher than zero.

Honestly if Trump wins I’m expecting riots. If Biden wins, I don’t expect any violence. The worst that will happen is a few people marching in protest on the streets and the media pointing at them saying “Look at those racists.”

I mean, Trump supporters already tried to kidnap a sitting US governor, shut down streets and tried to run a campaign bus off their road with their lifted pickup trucks, and think Trump is a messianic figure fighting a secret cabal of people who molest and then eat children. I wouldn't put isolated violence in the event of a Biden win out of the question, just like I wouldn't put broken storefronts stemming from marches that devolve into riots out of the question if Trump wins.

Just cast my vote for Trump in a swing state. 4 more years baby lets see it!

"The obedient always think of themselves as virtuous rather than cowardly" - Robert A. KAMALA HARRIS WILL NEVER BE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES! MAGA 2020!!!!!

EDIT: DIDN'T REALZIE THERE WERE SO MANY COMMIES ON THIS FORUM.

In a swing state and voted for Trump but not the end of the world if Biden wins, he’s still a corporate shill democrat and not a Sanders/Warren commie. Although I doubt he’d serve the full term and we’d have to see what the party tells Harris to believe in. At least we have constitutionalists on the court, assuming they don’t try packing.

He does not talk about it much, but I would estimate that there would be 99.5% chance that Biden wins the election, he would pack the SCOTUS.  With the crap that Kermit and his crew pulled, they should pack the courts.

Couldn’t disagree with this more. Plus Trump’s Supreme Court appointees aren’t Ivanka and Jared. They do not march in step with his priorities. If every time the political parties get control of all branches of govt they pack the courts, we will eventually have more supreme court justices than Senators.

You forgot FDR.

FDR practically made the US into a socialist country we now have. (YES, US by definition is socialist because the government spends about 40% of the GDP. If you add direct control over, it's nearly 50%).

Government control over the distribution of resources? Def a socialist.

Great, another cesspool devoid of critical thinking.

Let's face it. If Trump loses, the Republican nominee for 2024 is going to shit on Trump so much and 99.99% of you diehard Trump fans will be kissing his ass (I guess it could be a she).

If Biden loses, then 99.99% of you Biden supporters will turn Republican in 2024 because Warren is going to be the 2024 Democratic nominee (Sanders probably won't live through it, pre-emptive RIP) but that won't be enough to stop a Blue wave all over the places and we'll have the most leftist admin and Congress since FDR during 2024-2032.

I’m a fun guy. Obviously I love the game of basketball. I mean there’s more questions you have to ask me in order for me to tell you about myself. I'm not just gonna give you a whole spill... I mean, I don't even know where you're sitting at

Biden bros will have no idea what's going to hit them tonight. Silent majority that y'all forgot about, just like in 2016, is gonna carry Trump to another term. Just wait. People have been going out in droves to vote...specifically in red counties. Can also guarantee y'all are gonna be shocked when we see Trump win PA with minorities in Philly carrying him.

Really hard to estimate the final result, but a few curveballs which I think people are underestimating the effect of:

  • Relocation of college students and young NYC/LA voters to their hometowns. Potentially a big boon to Trump in a couple of places like NY and MA, but possibly unexpected benefit to Biden in other regions
  • Trump will win at least 20% of the black vote (probably 25-30% of black men - I actually think this will be the deciding factor).
  • Unpredictable impact of youth vote + mail-in ballots.
  • People totally missed by the polls (lol Amish...could tip OH, PA)

It will probably be close, and it's unlikely the Democrat party will respect the result if Trump wins today. Also unclear if Republican voters will respect the result if the media say Trump loses. Unfortunately the media have spent the last 4 years discrediting themselves so...

The difference in the crowds that Trump pulls all around the country vs Biden's seemingly dead campaigning, and that >90% Republican approval rating makes me think it's probably slightly leaning towards the incumbent... either way expect fireworks and long vix

This is way tighter than any of the polls predicted

Yep. We're watching the death of the polling industry in real time.

No matter what the result, to be honest. Trump win, Biden win - polls were flat out wrong.

Dr. Fauci is probably cussing like a mother fucker right now watching the coverage. Which, frankly, he would make a lot more $ doing like Scott Gottlieb being on the board of several companies and being a medical contributor on news networks. Plus he’s at the end of his natural lifespan so he could probably use less stress.

As of right now (almost 11pm EST), Trump hasn't won any state that he wasn't already expected to win. Florida, Ohio, Georgia, etc. were always going to be Trump states. This will come down to Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and maybe NC, Arizona, and/or Nevada and we will not know a number of these states tonight - particularly Pennsylvania, which won't even start counting most mail in ballots until tomorrow.

What tonight has shown is that polls pointing to a potential landslide, like Biden winning Florida, were comically wrong.

Yeah I watched an interview about how people are still lined up in Nevada waiting to vote. Doubt we know that one for a bit.

It's about midnight though, and it's not looking like we'll know much before Friday, so I'm heading out.

Lindsey Graham kept his seat! Does the LGBT community ever stop winning?

How spooky, now do death rates.

these ballots are being harvested by the democrats communist. the poll watcher is by majority a bunch of idiot liberal that was paid to change or throw away trump ballots,  is fucking outrageous. they need to take in charging these sons of bitches with high treason with 10+ years of imprisonment for doing shit like that. this dishonesty is sickening, last time i check we didn't live in a communist country

Edit: I guess WSO doesn't do twitter previews anymore. From Dave Wasserman, the best in the business:

"So two things: 1) Biden is well on his way to flipping MI & WI (in addition to AZ & #NE02) and is doing well enough in PA's completed counties to be on track to win there 2) Polls (esp. at district-level) have rarely led us more astray & it's going to take a long time to unpack"

Beyond that, this should be the absolute best possible outcome for WSO - an infinitely more stable president and executive branch with a check in the senate on any "far left" proposals they're afraid of.

So far, Pyrrhic victory for Biden and Never-Trump ''Republicans'', comic debacle for the media and pollsters. Likely to get challenged and drag for months. Sticking to the current scenario, it'd be 4 years of mostly stalemate while China keeps eroding US power around the world and the trend of decline continues.

Never discuss with idiots, first they drag you at their level, then they beat you with experience.

Months? I doubt it. But yes it'll be a sad day for American politics if Trump doesn't concede if he loses. But we already knew he wouldn't.
