Consulting Friendly MM PE Firms?
Hey Guys,
Currently a 2nd year MBB looking to exit to a MM PE firm (preferably for 2016 summer, but open to 2015). I've had a few interviews so far (unfortunately no offers) and trying to gauge what remaining MM PE firms haven't completed recruiting yet and are open to hiring former consultants. The overall process is quite a bit tougher than I thought, as many of the recognizable MM firms aren't open to hiring consultants in the 1st place and it's getting deep into that undesirable territory.
On a side note, if I don't get an offer, I'll just go to B-school next year. Given that most Post-MBA PE hires have Pre-MBA experience, how low would my chances be of securing something post graduation?
Thanks,
-IBT
Not sure about their recruiting timeline but Charlesbank is very consultant friendly.
HGGC and Golden Gate like consultants. GG has finished recruiting. HGGC is still in process I believe though.
One good rule of thumb to find MM firms friendly to consultants is look for places with early Bain Capital founders or MDs (e.g. - those above).
Also add Altamont Capital - spin off of Golden Gate
Consulting friendly MM pe funds..
Bain Capital, Advent, FFL, HGGC, Audax, New Mountain Capital, CharlesBank, Golden Gate, Altamont Capital, Sycamore Partners
There are more but these are first ones that come to mind. Most are probably done recruiting I would imagine though..
H.I.G. as well
Berkshire Partners, Sorenson Capital, H & F have known to be considerably receptive towards ppl with consulting experience in the past.
Thanks all!
To those of you that sent me messages with specific leads and offered to help, I truly appreciate it. I have 2 offers I'm weighing right now :) and 2 interviews looming.
Bump
Any other MBB-friendly PE firms still recruiting for 2015 or 2016? 3rd Year here looking to make the jump.
What are you looking for in terms of sector focus, location, and AUM?
Congrats. Could you describe the funds you have offers / interviews at (and if they're for Summer 2016 start)?
Just curious as I was under the impression that most MM PE (at least Upper Middle-Market) were done recruiting at this point.
Interested in this as well
