I got it also. I highly doubt it went to everyone. Why would they have you rank preference if you have no chance? Those are my thoughts at least.
I agree but I just haven't heard anyone who applied not get that email. I'm just eager for the interview process to begin
They might have everyone do it and then pick their first round candidate choices based on the number of applicants per location, coverage and product group
I think this definitely makes the most sense. They did say each group is independent in recruiting.

Have a friend who is 1-yr post grad, received the email you all are speaking about, completed it as a recent grad and today received a follow up from a recruiter regarding an open lateral position. Perhaps they will being reaching out to undergraduates soon as well

I got the email as well. Haven't heard any more though.
My contact there (first year analyst) told me that they send these emails out and then distribute resumes based on your preferences. The teams then look at the resumes and decide whether or not to give you an interview. He said there are many positions that are already filled due to OCR but that there are certain teams/groups that still have openings.

VolatileMarket My contact is from a NESCAC school so I assume they recruit from most of the schools that just miss the cut for BB/EB that are in the area.
What schools does Cowen have OCR on? Because all I've heard is that its schools that arn't target schools for BB/EB but dont know specific names
And what teams are most popular/probably already filled up?

Should be hearing back in the next week or so. Can confirm recruiting is different beyond teams. I've heard some teams are only looking to hire maybe one or two new analysts but the company is growing in terms of size.
