Delaying graduation by a semester

I'm currently a rising junior at Ivy target and have been actively trying to find a summer role for 2021. I didn't have much luck in the process mainly I think lack of my networking and soft skills coming from a non-native background and some other obstacles I probably haven't recognized myself.
Getting rejected from only so many places, the thought that I might end up with nothing in my hand is becoming real. Not giving up what I currently hold, but I think it's reasonable to evaluate the other options as well.
For a bit of context, I have a high GPA (3.9+), relevant experiences in BB ER, semester intern at smaller funds.
My concern is that would delaying graduation by a semester and coming out of school in Dec rather than May look bad? I can probably use some COVID adjustments for a reason. Also, since my school has recruiting teams for a lot of banks, I will probably have to encounter some of very individuals that decided not to give me a first-round interview this year. I was wondering how this delaying thing would be perceived, which is my main concern.

hey did any banks question u delaying by a semester, any black listing, etc.

I'm in a similar boat. Your school teams will be hesitant to look at you seriously unless you show major changes, and some banks won't even look at your application if they see that you've applied before.
That being said, make strong relationships with as many people as you can and you'll be fine. I think I'll have to extend and recruit next year too.

Lol one of my school’s alumni informed me they wouldn’t put me in the process next year if I extend. They’re a dick and they didn’t like me from the start. It’s no problem but it shows that it’s hard to change a bad first impression.
If you create a new email then maybe certain banks won’t really notice, but if you have school alumni at every bank then those people will definitely remember you. It’s not like people get amnesia every year. That’s why you’d need to show major change.

100% would toss your resume in the trash. Disingenuous and gaming the system. To the kid saying he did it, people know and will affect how he is perceived.

Always that one nosy person who will do a quick google / LinkedIn search, which will lead to the team knowing his academic resume is whacked
How is it “disingenuous and gaming the system”? He literally couldn’t get anything for his junior summer so he wants to try again by re-recruiting and delaying graduation.
It’s not like he already has an offer and he wants to get a better one by re-recruiting. And even if he did, there’s nothing wrong with that either.
