Leerink Swann Vs. Cain Brothers

Any idea how many 1st year analysts are recruited for full time positions each year. I am very interested in healthcare, and want to get involved in corp. finance.

FYI, cain brothers typically takes people with at least one year of experience. I interviewed there....they don't have a training program, thus they like guys who can hit the ground running. Their firm is very small so hiring is done on a need based, case by case situation.

why would an analyst leave a BB HC group to work for CB or LS? is the pay much better? it seems like a downgrade...

I would assume its all relative. At a BB you will be confined to a specific service within the healthcare industry; however, at a LS/CB you have the ability to work in a variety of capacities.

I interviewed with Leerink IBD and my interviewer said they were looking for a small first-year analyst class. He said they were targeting "about 10" incoming analysts to start this summer, but I don't know how reliable his estimate was. They did take one for FT and one SA from my school.
