Low grades in accounting! Hurt IB chances?

I've just finished my finals for the summer semester at my college, and my gut feeling tells me my Financial accounting course won't go so well. I entered the final with an A, but might come out with a B+, which is equivalent to 80-84% (GPA 3.30) at my school (but my school is on a 4.33 scale). This thought led me to WSO to ask you all about the importance of high grades in relevant coursework for IB, and what are those relevant courses?

I'm mostly concerned with accounting courses, since they are pretty hard. All other factors aside from academics, would a B+ average in all my accounting courses hurt my chances for IB? My overall GPA is 4.15/4.33 and I'm in Canada btw.

Should I retake it to get an A or A+?

Yeah that could seriously be an issue. Last year, I had just accepted an offer at the top BB of my choice and I was on top of the world. Three days later, between shots of Grey Goose and daydreams of how much I would pull as a sexually irresistible investment banking analyst, I got an email from HR asking for my transcript. My heart sunk when I flashed back to the disgusting B+ I had gotten in my corporate finance class. My stomach started churning and I sobered up instantly as I realized that no self-respecting bulge bracket investment bank would allow some B+ washout to join their elite squads of finance gods. I grudgingly sat down and forwarded my transcript to the HR rep, and within 2 minutes she had replied: "HAHAHA! B+ in corporate finance? DING!"

So yeah, could be a problem.

Sorry brah network hard, Have a decent overall GPA and network hard... again.......

I had a B- in accounting and majored in computer science at a complete non-target. This isn't the end of the world (though it certainly doesn't help).

Life is what you make it. Work harder. There are many different routes to take, if you keep working towards your dreams one of those routes will take you there.

honestly if accounting isn't one of your strong points, why would you want to pursue a career in something accounting-heavy? just reevaluate things.

Besides the lame attempt at a trolling, I currently work in what i feel is one of the most lucrative areas in finance right now. I didnt go to a target school. I got a C in cost accounting, got a C in physics, and got several Bs in classes I could have easily made As. The point is, if you want something bad enough you can get it. You just have to work harder, and take a different route then the norm.

The banks literally come to your school and pick out the 1-2 kids with the highest grade in your accounting course?
