Quit EB/BB before first year of analyst program is up?
Hi,
I am seeking advice on possible exits in my situation. I am at a BB/EB in London, and despise the work from the bottom of my heart. The team I work with is horrible, and I haven't been able to sleep properly since last summer due to stress and constant bombarding of email requests from seniors.
I am not cut out for this, my relationship is suffering, my health is going down, and am starting to have panic attacks (which I have never had), feeling the need to just run out and never come back. I am aware that sticking it out for a year is the absolute minimum people recommend, but I do not see myself making it another month without having a complete crash.
I am looking to move back to my home country, and am starting to reach out to family offices and small cap PE funds, as these are places I would ideally want to work in after IB.
My question is, Should I quit and move home in able to interview for places? If I should stick around at my current sweatshop, how the hell do I interview in another country? I barely had a few days off over Christmas. Don't see myself getting any holidays anytime soon.
Thanks, and sorry about poor structure. Just wrote this out after another panic attack.
Your well-being is infinitely more important than building pitchbooks for some old white men. Quit but do it amicably
I believe you should quit and stop, if you have good credentials for BB/EB, you have good credentials for everything - you can simply say that you didn't have a good fit with the team and the culture of the fir
Thanks everyone for the input. I have received an offer for a really small PE fund, USD 100m AUM. This is their first fund though. Im thinking about taking it, as I am interested in small-cap, but unsure about the size of the fund. I want to take it and getaway from my current bank, but have not heard/read anything about careers in small PE fund like these.
