Sophomore Internship my next step?
Going into my sophomore year i am already wanting to apply for IBs for next summer. I'd like to be an analyst. I like to plan ahead, but right now i have no idea where to apply, all i know is that i want to be in an IB and looking to the future i'd like to get as involved as possible to get a good Junior Year Internship when the time comes.
This summer i was a Sales Intern at Aflac and currently now an Operations Intern for VLGEA (for those wanting to look at stock). I am not sure how good of experience that looks for an IB and my GPA is the least to be desired right now as i had a pretty bad start of school. Although my GPA is not impressive, i pulled myself together and came out with a 3.6 this last semester. I am projecting to get my GPA soundly above a 3.0 after this fall semester, but that would not be true right now as i'm looking at early applications. I have done some volunteering work, being a fireman for my town as well as the local Rotary Club.
I am concerned how my resume would stack up and looking for some guidance as to what companies i could look into in NYC or NJ.
Thanks
Definitely boost your GPA as much as you can, more than 3.5 is usually the cutoff for IBD. Best thing you can do going into sophomore year is to apply for spring weeks or whatnot (most BB have it). Also, join the finance club at your school if there is one.
Where can I find out more details about spring weeks? Are there any currently open for incoming sophomores?
