Satisfied?
Just curious. I am a recently minted trader, but I decided to post here given that it's the most popular forum.
So.... I'm going through that time in my life when I'm asking myself, when is enough, enough?
As analysts or whatever, what do you think will make you satisfied (per year)? 100K? 500k? 1million? 20million? 100+million?
When I was younger, I told myself I'd be happy making 100k per year. Now I'm saying to myself, 1 million a year would make me OK.
What's next? Does this depressing cycle ever end? There are people all over the US who would kill to make over 100k, let alone even near 7 figures in their lifetime (savings).
I'd also like to hear from the older guys who are making bank to see if making more money has caused you to just adjust your lifestyle to the point where you can't see yourself going backwards in payscale.
Do wall streeters become slaves to the dollar? Or are we better than that?
Thanks.

You, and anyone else who uses this idiotic logic, are completely retarded.
Why is it the most popular forum? Because people want to talk about banking. What happens when you post a non-banking question in the forum? People don't want to talk about it.
There's a reason separate forums were created in the first place.
$20m
I won't be satisfied until I am making in excess of $20 million/year or I have a net worth of $100m.
I'd say $20+ million a year
I'd say $20+ million a year would satisfy me.

Yes. Was getting too many unwanted PMs and I also visit the site quite sparingly now.
well i'm not married, no
well i'm not married, no kids. I do live just off my salary, and save the vast majority of bonus (after giving to charity, and paying for some vacations).
I'd like to make more, and couldn't go back to 60k a year for sure. But 200k would be plenty, in reality, i just wouldnt save as much as i'd like to.

I think he was referring to wallstreetoasis as a whole and not just this specific forum. It's pretty obvious this section of this site is not the largest.
