GPA was 3.5 at time of application, dropped to 3.37 by background check - am I screwed?
I am a junior at a top target (HYPWSM), received an offer from a top asset management firm (think BlackRock, PIMCO, Dodge & Cox) for a SA position at their NYC hq. My GPA was 3.5 on my resume when I applied for this position. It is now 3.3. Now that they do a background check and this comes up, am I screwed? Or would this discrepancy count as 'reasonable'?
You got the offer, so who cares what your GPA is.
Your resume was 3.5 WHEN YOU APPLIED, so you are good.
Great, I just wanted to make sure it wouldn't be a problem. Thank you for the peace of mind!
So… Wharton?
What did you do to tank the GPA that much in a semester?
Had some shit going on w my family that left me pretty depressed, overcompensated by partying too hard... Recipe for disaster
Makes sense, hope you're doing better.
Bro background check doesn’t pull up your GPA. It only verifies you attend the school. They only time they can see if they asked you for a transcript
That's a relief! Hopefully I can pull my gpa back up by the time FT recruiting rolls around
Would it be a problem if gpa differs by 0.2 after background check?
