JP Morgan Investment Management SA

Hey this is my first post here, but I've been reading through forums for a while now.

Does anyone have any experience with the Investment Management SA at JP Morgan? I've come across a bunch of JPM Private Banking posts, but not much on Investment Management. I understand the difference between the two, but what is considered more desireable and why? I'm kind of just trying to get peoples thought on this aspect of the business. Also, is the superday for PB and IM together or are they seperate?

Thanks!

gsduke All groups are fairly strong if they are front office. Some do not even have open spots but take interns anyway.

I don't know what you mean by strong. If you mean strong in terms of performance, I would agree. But I would caution OP about analyst positions at BB AM arms. More likely than not you will end up being in a FoF position, and that is if you end up in an investment analysis type of position (some of their class ends up in investor relations type of role). A FoF position, despite being front office, is NOT a desirable position to learn and gain transferable skills.

If OP is truly interested in traditional asset management (asset management outside of the hedge fund world), he/she is much much better off getting a research associate type of position at one of the big traditional AM firms (>300B AUM type)
