Pinebridge Investment - Client Associate Position
Just wanted to see if anyone has any views on Pinebridge Investments? They have about $84b in AUM and about half of that is in institutional assets. Their AUM is broken roughly by: $51b in fixed income, $21b equities, $9b alts and $12 in multi-asset.
I have an information call with a contact of mine as well as an initial phone screen with an MD. Essentially the role is for institutional client service.
FIRM HISTORY PineBridge Investments is a private, global asset manager focused on active, high-conviction investing. PineBridge was formed in March 2010, when it was purchased by Pacific Century Group (PCG), a private investment group with interests in technology, media & telecommunications, and financial services and property. Prior to the organization’s purchase, PineBridge was part of the investment advisory and asset management businesses of American International Group, Inc. (AIG). The organization’s legacy in investment management dates back to the early 1960s managing assets for AIG insurance companies around the world. The organization came together in January 1996 with the consolidation of various investment entities into a single platform, sharing common investment, trading and compliance systems and reporting to a common functional management team.

You're welcome.
These are the guys who, as AIG Investments, almost blew up the world in 2006-2008 under Win Neuger, chasing yield in securities lending collateral investments. The collapse of this was a major trigger of the global financial crisis.
AIG renamed it Pinebridge and sold it in 2010 as part of the downsizing to pay back the U.S. gov't. Neuger left in 2013 and since then Pinebridge has a pretty decent rep as an active-focused asset manager and is still very large. One of my colleagues managed a $3B fixed income fund there. He doesn't have much to say about them good or bad, but then he doesn't talk much anyway.
