Investment Process
Hi,
I want to take investing into public equities more serious, but I have some issues with the research process and would like to know how other people go forward in their process.
I use a basic stock screener to find potential companies with the right characteristics e.g. EV/EBITDA, FCF Yield etc. but once im starting to take a closer look im not sure how long I should dig into the company and where I should start with my research to be efficient in spending my time?
I feel like it would make sense to start with the financials, as it can be a quick check for some red flags e.g. to much debt, to low margins. But I might be wrong here.
Therefore the question, when you find a company that has your interest where do you start your research, in the business model, financials etc. and when do you know to stop researching because it failed you test?
Thanks to everyone who has some insights to share.
