2024 FT Recruiting

I'm an international student in an ivy league and have been recruiting for full time IB & ST roles for the last year or so. I have an average GPA (3.4-3.6) range and worked in strategy consulting (Big 4) last summer. I've been networking a fair amount (getting on a call almost everyday) and applying almost immediately when a job opening releases. I haven't even got a single interview this year. I went to the career counselling in school and they said my resume and cover letter were fine... I understand it's super late in the day now but I'm not sure what to do or how to structure my search... Some FT roles have been popping up at EBs but not much... Pls help or advice - getting super desperate now. Any help would be huge.

same boat. the current economic environment is heard for everyone but specifically very brutal for international students. hang in there. you got this.

Unfortunately it’s a tough market for everyone and it doesn’t seem like you have a competitive profile for IB given your past internship was non-IB, your gpa is low, and you’re international on top of it. You’ll really have to leverage your ivy league network and hope someone will give you a chance, I recommend just shooting for LMM ib and looking to lateral later on.

international at a target here. interned in LMM last summer & did not get a return. I applied to 800+ jobs & did 50+ interviews before I was able to land 1 FT non-IB role a couple weeks ago. it's really rough out there, and there were many times where I questioned my resume & interviewing abilities, but just know that you should always keep going no matter what. I'd also recommend to use your networks extensively since you're at an ivy, because that's how I got my job.
