3 years at CC..screwed?
Hi everyone,
I am wanting to pursue a career in either investment banking or equity research. I attended community college for 3 years (personal reasons) and transferred into a none-target school (Rutgers). I will be attending Rutgers for 3 years since I will be majoring in finance and minoring in economics. Will I be considered a sophomore in the fall and be eligible for sophomore events and other programs? And will taking 6 years to graduate affect my chances of landing an internship and a full-time offer after graduation? Will my cc classes show up on my final transcript when requested by the employer ?
Thank you :)
I went to CC. Nobody cares. Tell a compelling story and you will be fine.
As someone who went this route (CC to Non-target to SA and FT IB), Agree
What makes a story like OP’s compelling?
thanks for sharing! and thank you :)
Class rank is based on years to graduation, so if you have 3 school years left until you graduate, you're a sophomore.
Agree with the comments echoed above. I would though maybe not put the year you graduated HS because people don’t like old analysts. like 24/25 is the cutoff really. hopefully you don’t look old. you’re totally fine you just have to use all this time to network and whatever Rutgers people do to break into finance. just curious though why is this going to take 6 years? I get you maybe we’re doing CC not full time so you got 2 years worth of education in 3 years but what’s the deal with Rutgers?
hey, thank you for the tip! During my first year of CC, I dropped courses due to a mental health issue which has been resolved and I had to retake 2 courses. It’s taking me 3 more years at Rutgers because I want to have a fuller college experience and have multiple internships under my belt and to better my chances of landing a IB internship my junior year. I chose Rutgers because I was eligible for a full ride scholarship and they have a program where they pair you up with a Rutgers alumni working on wall street to mentor you.
ok cool. so with that in mind I would focus as well on making your GPA as high as possible. the CC dropped classes and retakings won’t matter but a bad GPA will
Imagine being in school for 6 years lmao.
will Richard.6 have more or less monkey shit than Richard.5
when do you graduate? subtract two and that year's spring is when you will be a sophomore. you got this OP!
You are your credits. Nobody gives a shit I know 25/26 year old Analysts.
