7 rounds of interviews then no updates

I finished interviewing for an offcycle position at a BB 2 weeks ago and still haven’t gotten any updates, does it mean silent rejection?

The situation is a bit tricky.

I never applied for this position. I went to an event held by this company and talked to the team and they seemed to like me, then they called to explain more about the business then offered me to interview with the whole team. There were total 7 rounds of interviews and I made it to the final round. I thought I did well and since the position didn’t went public ( I didn’t see any public announcements of the position in this team), I assumed that it wouldn’t be competitive and I have a good chance.

I followed up 1 week after the interview and they told me that they would update me early this week. But this week they never reached back.

Am I still under their consideration? Should I follow up again next week?

There’s literally no need for banks to behave like that. Shit is ridiculous. Lazy people.

Good to know that your friend is getting an offer! But ghosting after so many rounds is just so annoying for me

As someone who’s been in a bunch of super days and now am on the other side as an analyst, if you don’t hear back in 1-2 days you weren’t the first choice.

In extreme cases, if you’re still in contention and you emailed them they wouldn’t ghost you.

It sucks banks operate like this but I would keep your chin up and look forward.
