Accept back office offer from GS/MS/JP, or local middle market IB firm?
I currently have an offer from GS/MS/JP to work in operations full time, or a local MM IB firm that is not top 50.
I have been told GS/MS/JP have excellent mobility programs but I would have to wait 2 years before moving within the firm. What would you monkeys do?
IB 100%, and who said there’s excellent mobility at those firms? Not true
Exactly, internal mobility is pretty difficult for someone in back office looking to move into FO (IBD, S&T). Its only easy if you are already in a FO role looking to move into a different group in FO.
(Ignore title, not an intern) Echoing others here, there’s virtually 0% chance you’ll be able to move from BO to FO within the firm. Take the MM offer

Take the front office role, always. Direct experience will give you a much better chance to lateral to another bank if you want to in the future.
