Accidentally omitted job on background check form

I recently received a verbal offer to join an IB that is very strict with its background check policy. A formal written offer is contingent on the completion of a background check. The issue is I left off a job on the background check form that was an internship I did in college for 2 months. Since it was reported on my U-4, which I had filled out at my previous employer, and the background check requires disclosing all employment history, I am concerned about having my offer withdrawn.

Any advice on the best course of action here? My background check started 3 days ago and is still on going.

Take this with a grain of salt, however, I have always favored being transparent over everything. I would email them ASAP explaining your oversight and that you would like to correct it. I’m not sure your specific circumstances but every FBI background check I have gone through, there was a 3rd party company representative that I could contact directly throughout the process. Chances are you are not the first person to do this and the sooner you address it the better. Best of luck with your endeavors and curious to see what others think about my approach. Cheers.
