Have heard of a few analyst layoffs directly and second hand.
Sorry man, any idea how many people were let go and what groups?
How much do banks even save by cutting Analysts, like genuinely? These are MASSIVE institutions, feels unnecessary and cold - they're not going to go under by keeping them on. But maybe its just the European in me not liking wanton disregard for employees.

What are they going to do with a steer less army of analysts without development opportunities?
Analysts still make like $150k. Cut 50 of them globally and that's $7.5 million dollars. Cut 100 and it's $15 million, even more if you throw in some ASOs or VPs - and that would be such a small cut globally that it would barely be noticed externally. It just adds up
Was expecting more layoffs at the AS/VP level or low performing directors. Yeah analysts are the easiest to replace but also by far the cheapest resource so surprised at how many places laid off analysts.
Yeah but like.... Analyst 1s.... They're there to learn, on a 2 year graduate programme. It seems incredibly unfair to terminate them just like that.
