I have been studying technicals for IB but I think I could be a better fit for private wealth management, Investment Management, global investment research. I was wondering are the technicals different for these positions? Also, in general what are some of the differences between these things?

They are different divisions that will require different skill sets, so the technicals will not all be the same. I cannot speak to what interviews are like for the other positions you listed because I only interviewed for investment banking, but from what I have heard from friends those types of interviews are more markets based.
