Hi guys,
Just checking, have you guys received any information/calls from investment banks in Asia? Singapore/HK offices.
I have received JPM SG first and second rounds already. But I was wondering about the other banks.
Also, I'm from a US target school, so if anyone is US based and applying for Singapore offices, definitely update your news here. Appreciate it!

For Singapore, JPM, Citi, UBS, Barclays, Nomura, HSBC have given out first rounds.

Most APAC SA gigs state clearly that they are juniors only. Would a sophomore stand no chance at all? Haven't thrown in any apps for APAC except for GS PWM, not sure if even worth the effort...
Based on what I heard for 1st rounds for SG,
Barclays: 3 phone interviews UBS: 2 phone interviews Citi: 3 phone interviews Nomura: 2 face to face interviews
Could someone share info on MS HK? Group, culture, deal flow, work/life balance etc.

I heard Barcap SG does local first before doing overseas peeps. Got Nomura as well, but has anyone gotten seconds yet?
Does UBS do it differently as well?
Is it Nomura SG? I applied to BJ but first round interview says its Asia Pacific
I applied to both HK and SG. But the first round is for both offices, so more of a centralized HR interview.

Are you guys nationals are the offices you're applying to? I was wondering if you weren't, you'd need to get the corresponding Visa to get to the office for superdays, yes?
They usually have superdays in New York for most of the bulges. So no Visa required.
If all of you are from US schools, how did you get the interviews? Know someone important?
Same old, same old. But more importantly, I think Asia offices are more meritocratic in terms of selection than in the US. You don't have to network much, and cold calling is more of an anomaly in Asia than in the US, where it is more pervasive.
So for HK, are MS and UBS the only places out with 1st rounds?
GS, MS, UBS have given out 1st rounds. JPM, I suspect, is pretty much finished recruiting considering that they've already given out plenty of offers in the accelerated process
Does GS send out invites in waves?

MS invite is definitely given out in waves -- last week it was the schools on the west coast of the US, earlier this week the midwest, not sure about the east coast.

All the BB in SG had given out 1st rounds. So if you didnt receive anything by the end of this week, then it is highly likely that you got dinged.

Has anyone heard back from Nomura in HK? Had a first round phone screen with them a few weeks ago but heard nothing since.

To update everyone on the superdays that I know have been released (to ease some of your aching souls), these are the ones I can confirm have sent out invites to SOME:
BAML (first superday is already finished), DB, UBS, JPM

No I mean that their earliest superday is already finished. AFAIK a lot of banks havent had superdays yet.
Any updates on MS HK / Nomura HK?
Just got a message from Nomura saying that they can't confirm whether I'll get a first round (already had a phone screening) at this time. I assume this means waitlist? Anyone else got a same/different message?

Yep same email from Nomura.. Honestly its been a month since the phone interview im not getting my hopes up. Also didnt hear back from MS after first rounds but then i did miserably in one of the interiews.
Macquarie just emailed me for first rounds. Anybody heard anything from BAML since first rounds yet? I heard some singapore peeps in Singapore have received final round invitations.
For the SG office, most of the BBs are in the finals rounds or 2nd rounds already.

MS HK IBD second rounds were sent out about a week ago
DB's HK interview is out... will be in NY in mid-Jan @BBBanker94" by MS HK IBD second rounds is that the 2nd phone interview in the first round, or the third one after the 2 rounds of phone interviews in the first round? I remember my MS interviewer said that there will be another (3rd) phone interview before the superday in Jan.
First rounds (two phone interviews) are done. Second rounds will be out by the end of next week, followed by superday in Jan
I mean the 3rd one after the 1st round (which consists of 2 phone interviews)
For me, the 1st round was with two associates, the 2nd round was with a ED
I have the first rounds for Nomura coming up soon, but this is for the sg office. Just wondering though, what was the time lag between the first rounds and receiving notifications for the next round? As in how long did it take for them to reach out to you for the final rounds after you did your first.
Offers are given out for the SG offices.

Not only for CS and Im not exactly sure about the the number of locals. For the local universities, it has been about 2 per year for CS IBD SA.

JPM alr gave out superdays for SG office. BAML had 3 local offers already. I'm wondering now about whether there's a fourth spot for BAML Singapore for foreign schools.
Not exactly sure whether the banks will have a separate superday for foreign schools but you are right about the info for BAML.
Just heard news that JPM SG sent out offers to 3 LSE peeps for summer analyst positions next summer already.
Looks like it was meant for them all along. No one I knew got a 1st round interview there.
On a side note, do you know whether any students from the local universities manage to get into JPM next summer?

I was just wondering if I can receive some insight on my situation. I am currently in a local university and I finished MS GCM round 2 and BAML HK IBD & GCM superday. I haven't gotten any updates from both parties, does it look like it's most likely dead for both firms? Would appreciate any feedback thanks!
I think they're doing it a bit different this year. Usually the superday takes place in NY (I'm assuming you're studying and currently located in the US) in mid Jan or so. But this year I'm seeing a lot of sporadic superdays conducted online via webex or just phonecalls.
They usually get back to you if they want you pretty quick after a superday held in NY because (I'm guessing) everyone they want to interview is already there. But if they are conducting sporadic superday interviews like this year, It's hard to know when they'll get back to you because you don't know when they finish interviewing the last one. But once they do, they'll get back to you shortly if they want you. You can "pressure" them to making you an offer early if you have other offers available already.

I'll have my interviews next Monday - pretty late. Can only cross our fingers for now I guess; hopefully they haven't filled their class yet lol!
And I think MS HK is really slow. Usually wait 2 weeks or so to find out whether you're into the next round or so.
From exp, MS is very slow. Assume you are still in the game.
BAML superday: Some offers (but maybe not all) are out, and waitlist notification is also out (i.e. if they sent you an email reminding you that you are still in the running, and thanking you for your patience). If you haven't received either, then I don't think you are still in. Most people I know who didn't get an offer got a kind email saying that they are still being considered (waitlist)
Anyone at a US based school received final round invite for MS HK IBD yet? I had my second interview on Dec 14th, still haven't heard back :(
Had mine on December 22. Heard superday will be in mid Jan. Should hear back within a week or two
