Asking to end internship 2 weeks early?

I'm a rising junior at a semi-target LAC in the east coast. I'm from the west coast and am doing a 11 week internship at a boutique bank (~11 people) in Manhattan for the summer. My MD just put me on a live deal and said that I'm going to be the only analyst on the deal since the other 2 analyst have their hands full already. The thing is, my family wants to go on a vacation two weeks before my end date and I want to go since it's probably going to be the last time I'll get to go on vacation with them for a while. However, I don't want to just drop the ball on my team since I'm going to be the only analyst on the deal.

Should I ask my boss if I can end my internship 2 weeks early or just skip the vacation and stick it out?

Will the deal even finish by the time my end date arrives if the company only got a verbal offer to buy last week?

1) no. skip the vacation, you're an intern and he put you on a live deal. the experience you will gain from working on that deal will be a better investment of time than going on vacation. it sucks you have to skip but it'll be worth it in the end. 2) most likely not.

Skip - would look bad on your part. Additionally, the MD/your colleagues will be more likely to go to bat for you when you recruit for internships for next summer (helping with networking etc) and the live deal experience will allow you to stand out during internship recruiting. 2 weeks vacation, although fun, isn't worth giving up those benefits.
