Attention to detail - Impact on return offer?

Currently an SA at a BB in London. Received midreview around 2-3 weeks ago, got a comment that ATD can be improved. Final Review last Friday, received a comment that ATD is something that persists to be an area that can be improved. However, was told all other interns in the group got the same comment.

Other than that, my feedback was positive e.g., motivated, good attitude, proactive.

How much does ATD play into if you get a return or not? I'm worried that in such a difficult market that they might nitpick and say that ATD is enough to cut someone. Capital Markets btw

Thoughts?

Thanks for this. I suppose that's something to take away for if I get to come back as it's the end of the summer internship now, but my question was more like if ATD would ever be a fatal factor in deciding if you get to come back or not when you've otherwise had good feedback plus a good final project?

If it was said to all the interns the person giving feedback probably needed something to keep

you guys motivated, and to be honest it probably is true. Take it seriously and do some of the things mentioned above but as long as your other feedback was good I would not sweat it that much. If your internship wasn’t over, I would’ve said try to ask your asc how to improve attention to detail and practice it in front of them, since they are the ones most likely writing the maj of your feedback.

For interns esp Analysts ATD is the most common feedback. Same for Summer ASOs as well. The real question who is going to pound the table for your at the internal round table of VPs. That’s the deciding factor ..
