BAML vs WF vs Stifel IBD

They are all on the west coast (SF/PA), except Wells Fargo, which might be in NY. How would you rank these three? In terms of fit, I enjoyed talking with the people from all 3 locations.

I am curious how you guys would rank these three, primarily in terms of exit ops, as well as salary/culture/future.

Thanks for any input. I have until the end of this week to decide.

Cheers

I would take whoever is most likely to give a full-time offer. I met plenty of people who were qualified but didn't get a return offer and got scrwed when full-time came around.

Plus, a full-time offer will give you negotiating power to move to another firm FT...

I am leaning towards Wells actually. From reading some previous posts, it seems that WF is growing while most other banks are cutting employers. WF had bonuses that were on par with top BBs last year, and it seems like a relaxed place to work. Does anyone have any advice for Wells Fargo in particular?

I don't know much about WF, but most of the WF guys here who have gone on full time seem to have trouble finding exit opps (seem to be very very limited). You're going into a SA spot, so no need to think about that much, but you did mention it in your original post.

As much as I would completely dread working at BAML Palo Alto (have heard some ridiculous horror stories about that office, specifically), I think for a Summer Analyst position it's your best bet as the Merrill Lynch name will still carry the most weight when you re-recruit for FT.

If this was a FT position I would take Weisel SF, no questions asked, but since this is SA you have to realistically go with what will brand you best for FT recruiting.

Good luck.
