Banks with 2-year analyst programs vs 3-year analyst programs
I haven't heard this talked about much on WSO, but I'm curious about banks with 2-year analyst programs versus banks with 3-year analyst programs. Wouldn't there be a strong preference for a firm with a 2-year analyst program so you can get the bump in base salary to 175k+? Associate bonuses are also bigger too and it's a faster track to the VP level.
Most banks are 3-year analyst programs I know, but there's a handful of banks with 2-year programs. Here are some that come to mind: GS, MS, BAML, Barclays, CS, Deutsche, BMO, Baird
Is this correct and are there any others? Curious as to why this isn't talked about much. Any thoughts?
MS is 2.5 yrs
Are the other BBs listed 2.5 years as well or 2?
Rothschild and Houlihan are 3 years. Blair Lincoln, and Baird are 2.5 years. Jefferies, Piper, HW, and BMO are 2 years
Just to be clear as I work at Piper: Associate 0 = Analyst 3. For them, the real associate track happens when you are promoted to ASO 1 / ASO 2 / ASO 3.
Are you not paid at the 175 base in your 3rd year tho?
Barclays is also 2.5 yrs basically. Source: I work there.
I think most of these firms you listed in general are between 2.5-3yrs.
Cowen is 2 years
