BB vs EB For long-term career
Hi,
Aware that EB's pay more, but if you wanted a career in banking and had the option of GS/MS/JPM vs Evercore/Centerview, which would be better to start in?

Clearly centerview unless you want to be a capital markets guy imo
every senior i’ve spoken with says BB. Every junior i’ve spoke with says EB. Do with that info what you will
.
EB if banking/PE is your destination. Great growth potential, great economics..
GS/MS/JPM if you ever plan to leave finance just in case. Not many know EBs outside finance. Greater brand recognition across industries, more easy career transition.
- advice from a global head at a BB
If you're planning for a long-term career in banking, it's best to get your reps in for a few years at an advisory-only shop and then pivot to a BB / full-service bank for your ASO/VP years in order to get access to different products and a greater universe of clients.
