Best Bars in NYC

Hey guys -

I am trying to plan a party for one of my buddies and am looking for a sick bar in NYC to host like 20-35 people. I am not a fan of the "true" club scene so please don't recommend Marquis, SL, Ten June, etc.

Instead I am looking for somewhere to rage with my college friends that won't cost a fortune. Originally I was thinking Fat Baby, Galway Hooker, or Joshua Tree but want to look somewhere else. Any other recommendations?

Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

I've seen that list, but thanks anyway.

I think there is a difference between throwing a party somewhere and you're favorite spot to grab drinks after work on a Friday night. I mean Bro Js, Ulysees, Joshua Tree, etc are great spots but not the ideal if you want to have an epic night and get a table somewhere.

I was thinking more along the lines of Bryant Park Hotel Bar, The Collective or Spring Lounge. Anyone have any other recommendations along those lines? Thanks again guys.

Grab a table on Gansevoort's rooftop. There's a dance floor up there and you'll have drinks at the table / at the bar. Not too clubby, and very fun on a warm night.
