Best way to list completed modeling courses (WSP, WSO, M&I, etc.) on CV
I'm a rising senior and I just completed the exam for Wall Street Prep and got the whole informal "certification". I know it's such a minor detail and it won't make or break my resume, but I was curious to how you would list self-study modeling courses on your CV. My first intuition was to list it under technical skills with the courses's name like this:
Technical Skills: Wall Street Prep Financial Modeling & Valuation
OR I realized you can also list out the individual modeling courses and modules that you ran through like so:
Technical Skills: DCF, Merger, Accretion/Dilution, Sensitivity Analysis, LBO, etc.
Which of the two make a CV more appealing in your opinion?
Honestly, and I might some flack for this, but If you have a lack of experiences to fill your resume, I would do a small section on it.
ie "Completed a 75 hour modeling course that included DCF, LBO, etc etc etc". And then add whatever detail you want.
It is small and it won't make or break your resume. But sometimes the most important part of the recruitment process is making it past the initial resume screening. So the more things you have related to ANY type of modeling, the better.
Those are my two cents. As you progress you can phase it out for more meaningful stuff.
