Best Way to Prep

Starting as a first year analyst at an upper MM bank for IBD in 2 weeks. What are the best ways to prepare both conceptually and in regards to modeling?

Please only experienced analyst responses. Thanks in advance.

How much modeling experience do you already have? That would probably help people answer your question.

I feel like I'm at a competitive disadvantage coming in 4 months after the other 1st years, so don't want to end up on a lower tier of the bonus spectrum. Straight chillin does sound nice. Been a brutal process. Oh ya...and I'm still employed by the PE so I just put in my 2 weeks( although I doubt they are gonna want me in the office working on deals when I'm leaving).

If you have two weeks til you leave the PE firm and two weeks until you start at the BB then I would probably work hard to preserve the contacts you have there. As far as modeling etc. I would think that you'll be fine when compared to other analysts as you have 2 years experience prior. I would hope that this would negate your knowledge deficit to whatever they may have learned in 4 months.
