If my end goal is to eventually work in M&A, should I take a big 4 M&A offer and try to lateral or ecm/dcm at bb and try to switch internally?

If you want to work in M&A take the M&A position. Plus, if you are based in Europe Big4 M&A teams have a solid reputation. However, make sure that you end up in an actual M&A advisory team and not in due diligence or valuation as this can be quite confusing in Big4 teams.
