Bloomberg Launches Paywall, Site Redesign

Bloomberg.com and mobile now needs subscription 16 comments

This afternoon, Bloomberg released an updated site format and announced the start of a metered paywall for all content. Free users can read 10 articles per month and 30 minutes of live TV per day. Packages start with Digital for $34.99/mo and All Access for $39.99/mo (both offer 6 month, $9.99/mo trials).

Thoughts on this move? Do you plan to subscribe? This price puts them in the same ballpark as WSJ/FT, and I'm not sure I see BBG on the same level. Interested to see how it plays out. I will miss reading Matt Levine every morning once my free articles expire each month.

RIP to their reader base. I can’t think of a single person that would pay money to read BB articles as opposed to, or even in conjunction with, WSJ.
