I know some first round phone screens have gone out.
Is it true BMO is referral only?
I had a first round last week and that was on a referral-only basis. Not sure when/if it will open up after that
Yes, can confirm it is referral only.
BMO primarily recruits from its targets. Outside of its targets your chances are slim, but not impossible. Phone screens went out last week and were primarily technical based on valuation and some merger stuff. Apparently, those that had a phone screen last week should find out on superday invite this week.

Bump. Had the phone screen last thursday. Also, invites didn't only go to target schools. They sent me an invitation when they didn't know I transferred out of a non-target

Heads up, I received a first round for SF earlier. I also surely didn't have a referral, so I guess for at least SF that isn't necessary. I've already accepted another offer but figured someone here may find that useful.

mine was a few weeks ago, 60% qualitative, 40% basic technicals. There was a huge emphasis on being a normal/good person so just be yourself. My call was almost a conversation for the last 10 min. good luck!
Same here. I screwed up bad but I think I was able to get the superday because I showed I was eager to learn and also come off as a funny person

Yep, heard back Wednesday and got invited to the superday for NYC next week. Haven’t heard back from them on a specific date, however.

I'm not sure how they're doing it this year, but last year they never opened up on their website and said they were already closed when I emailed in fall.
