What is a more prestigious background for an average straight, white male looking to break in to IB against all odds - dad being the Group Head of your coverage group or dad being the chairman of your coverage group's largest client?
Group head fs
disagree. family at the bank means there's a ton of compliance regs to go through. far less bureaucracy if they're at a client
What is the path (is it worth playing up a parent not going to college/ neither being in Finance)?
Still harder to break into than getting hired for diversity lol
Are you willing to share your time machine with today’s prospects?
Glad to see you finally catch a break in life, I am sure things have been difficult for you thus far. As a poor white, what steps can I take today to have the best chance of breaking into a prestigious rich family in the event I am reincarnated one day since IB is out of the question for me in this life. I understand if this question is beneath you, but would appreciate any time you could give to the tired and downtrodden.
What advice would you give to younger rich white males that are just starting college at their dad’s alma mater (think Dartmouth/Brown/Vanderbilt) and aspire for a career in finance?
What types of interview questions did your best friend’s uncle ask you before he gave you a summer internship at his $300 million - $1 billion private equity fund?
