Can I bring a completed deck for an EB Interview?
I have an interview with an EB product team. A close friend at the firm on the M&A team told me this group is known and judges based on your ability to pitch a stock testing both quantitative and quantitative abilities as well as overall communication skills. He has sent me over a blank shell so I have the banks format down to the font and primary colours. My question is could I bring a completed deck for this interview printed and bound, and present it while also verbally discussing why I think it’s good.
If you want to get absolutely grilled and likely laughed about after you leave, yea go for it. Would also be weird to see it in their own format. Just talk about your idea if they ask you.
Thank you. This is where I’m getting confused because my boy at the bank is saying it’s a good idea and he’s a 2nd year associate.
I would counter and say that certain individuals may appreciate the effort / presentation (assuming it’s not liquid garbage).
If you don’t work for this bank currently, then there’s no real reason to conform to their format from my perspective (as it relates to my experience hiring laterals).
Thank you that is an easy switch I had just used the primary colour when they want to draw attention to something. In terms of the deck I would say it is very sound as I obviously have experience and had people look it over. The deck has company / industry analysis - including analysis of the 3 main industries it operates in, where they rank in compared to its peers. Has two investment thesis, comps, DCF, Scenario analysis, football field. From there I have catalysts and risk showing likely hood of it happening and overall recommendation.
