No, this doesn't happen.

At most, an introduction to the group or to an HR rep at an event. But you can mention them in interviews and gaining insight into a bank (but an actual analyst/associate would be a lot better)

The MDs/Recruiting team for the target I went to took summer analysts out for lunch + asked for help spreading the word on campus / referrals. Not sure how much these count for anything but they did encourage input.

No, they can do a warm introduction to current analysts. But SAs and seniors have zero direct communication lol, half of my MDs don't even know a single current analyst's name let alone talking to the interns

Unlikely. Sometimes if there is a strong pipeline current analysts will ask incoming analysts for recommendations but even then will go through the standard process and doesn’t do much besides getting a chance at the process

Some times they will ask SA if they would recommend anyone to be a part of the process. Other than that, analyst/associate definitely has more pull.

Not directly, but for anyone on here saying an incoming analyst doesn’t have influence must’ve been a very antisocial intern. During my SA, I got very close to some of the analysts who were 2 years ahead (one year ahead analysts still in training). I would text them throughout my senior year and have still kept in touch. I didn’t know many younger kids interested in IB, but I absolutely would’ve sent over resumes to analysts if I did. Would really hope that others had a similar experience…
