Carleton vs. East Coast LACs

Hey guys,

I just had a quick question for those of you in the know, namely if you attend other top-five LAC colleges, or are in banking. My brother is deciding which college to go to, and I told him I would poll as many sources as possible. Let me preface this by saying that I go to an east coast LAC (Amherst/Williams/Swarthmore), and am trying to convince him to do the same. However, he was curious about how Carleton stacks up on the street. I know that it is equal in terms of academic prestige, but am wondering how much locational bias plays in? Thanks for your opinions.

first, congrats on him going for a LAC. I think LAC's are the right way to go.

I go to an east coast LAC and I know we've got a well-respected presence on the Street. I don't know much about Carleton, although I saw a Carleton alum offering an internship at his HF once. I would lean towards Amherst or Williams (b/c of representation on the Street and locational bias) if he really wants to go to Wall Street but it's also important to think about where he'll be happy, and driven to succeed, for the 4+ years of his life he's in college.
