CIBC/Canadian IB Interview Questions?

Hello, I’m a rising sophomore and I just got a first-round interview for 2025 IB SA (ECM) with CIBC. Any questions in particular I should be particularly prepared for? What are some questions that might be specific to ECM?

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

My interview was with M&A but hope this helps;

Why IB/CIBC
Recent Deal
Technicals
- $100 Sale of Asset through 3 statements
- High Level Walkthrough of both DCF & LBO
- Basic Dil. S/O - Treasury Stock Method
- Why are unlevered DCFs preferred
- What kinds of synergies are there and can you give examples in the context of Starbucks

Nothing too difficult, with CIBC specifically they will try to pick at any weak element of your answers with follow ups, so keep it concise.

Good luck!

can confirm i got very similar questions, I had a few questions on comps tables and some metrics, M&A question on accretion, some weird one on what i would use to value a ipo, walkthrough of DCF
