Citi Energy
Where do you see this team (in Houston) headed in the next 2 years? On the way to being the number 1 Energy group on the street?

Obviously Trauber is a badass (though I've heard mixed things on working for the guy)... but there are a lot of mouths to feed over there now. Also expect some departures given the influx of people, so who knows whether those will be important or addition by subtraction. In the end it can only help C, as their energy team wasn't very well regarded before the UBS arrival...but that doesn't mean they are taking over the space any time soon.
Agree with Monty and Cartwright. Not sure why they would be on the way to number 1 when UBS wasn't #1 and Citi didn't have a very strong group before.
Does that mean you have actually heard good things?
i have 2 points....
Barclays, BAML, JP, Jeff, CS all are doing a good job so where does Citi fit?
A better question would be is Citi being offered the platform to do better then team did at UBS
Top 3 Houston offices have traditionally been Barclays on top, with CS and UBS fighting for 2nd. Not many reasons why that shouldn't carry over to Citi.
did they give summer offers out already?
Will Citi be at Energy Rodeo?
Citi Commodities will but not Citi Investment Bank
Citi Commodities is their sales and trading unit
nice. looking forward to it
I have 4 investment bankers slated to be at the rodeo but all are on call so no telling who makes it
They definitely made summer associate offers already (as have the others).
To Stratton's question....yes I have heard good things...and terrible things. Not many in the middle.
They have made Summer Analyst offers also. Believe they filled their class but not 100%
What are the chances of getting a summer associate offer into energy during the matching process?
??
Where can one still get solid summer analyst offers in H-town?
define solid?
A well-respected place with good deal-flow, culture, hours etc which will at least open up good opportunities for FT positions, if not being a great FT position itself.
Damn really? SA spots are already filled at most places? I thought SA recruiting went well into Feb.
Not for Houston. Superdays were last week and the week before
Macquarie and Jefferies still have first-rounds coming up, but all the BBs are basically done interviewing. Houston recruiting for summer/FT spots is generally done before NYC and SF since Texas schools start and end earlier.
