I had chats with analysts at Citi and was told that interns get a fair bit of exposure to transactions which I value and I really like the fact they’re in Canary Wharf

I ended up going for Citi

Yeah the illusion of CW will expire after your 10 weeks. Then you'll be back at BofA/in the city for FT I assure you.

I'm at Citi. BofA is better atm if you're risk averse, Citi return offers are not good rn. Otherwise no real difference

It's not really teams that determine it... HR will have a headcount of how many return offers they want to make. You're going to be judged against the whole cohort, irrespective of team. When you get a return offer (which I hope you do), you get a generalist offer. Maybe you come back to the same team FT, maybe you go somewhere else. I've seen a lot of people going to different teams to where they did their internship in.

My advice to you is to pick a team with people you get along with professionally and think have a good mentorship culture. Also pick one that you are interested in. It is a lot easier to get a return offer in such teams - because you will actually be showing the skills needed for one through being engaged, interested, etc., than in a team you have no interest in because you just won't put in as much good work as you would in one you really want to be in.

Does that make sense? I hope this is helpful to you.
