Class Status on Resume Drop Site
Guys, I am a sophomore at a non-target next to Boston. Our career website gets a lot of good attention from the MM and Boutique IB firms in the area (as well as PE) but 90% of them require you to be at least a Junior to apply.
On the website, you can update your profile and choose your class. Would it be bad if I switched to a Junior and applied to a few of the offerings which only accept Juniors? I have a strong passion for the markets and know I can do the work, but I don't want to wait until next year.
Thanks
a good way to get banned from ocr
1) Go ask first to make sure you don't ganned banned from OCR and won't be blacklisted from the firms (highly doubt either of these would happen
2) Contact the firms yourself without OCR that are posted
3) Just apply anyways and see what happens. Will show motivation and desire even if you get caught.
The jobs are for juniors. Wait you turn and find non ocr positions that will hire a sophomore. And no, you should not lie on your application and say you are a junior.
Yes it would be bad. They are for juniors because the firm can extend a full time offer to the summer interns after the internship ends.
They obviously cannot do that with a sophomore.
Any way you could accelerate graduation?
Again, these questions never cease to amaze me. You know the answer to your own question.
No, do not lie. Ever. If you want it that badly, find other routes to do it that won't require you to lie on an application.
Just wondering since I've seen other questions on here about sophomores at target schools fibbing their class year to get a junior level SA internship early
Yeah, if their dad is the MD or something.
